Neuro Heroes has brought joy into exercise for me with MS

This morning I was a pirate. Last week I was various underwater creatures and the week before that I was on safari. Welcome to the fun world of Neuro Heroes where exercise to train your MS body is never boring. With entertaining routines, great music and a team of skilled neuro physios, you can work on strength, cardio, balance and coordination for an hour and never stop smiling. I don’t intend to laugh or even smile, but I find myself doing both in every class I attend.

Anna and Laura are very professional, starting with the detailed online assessment form before your first session. They get to know everyone in the class and are able to praise and comment on mistakes with equal care and concern. They prioritise each class members’ safety and each routine can be adapted to your level of fitness.

I’ve never met either of them or their other great teachers in person. However, we have a fantastic rapport from group classes and one to one sessions. The best thing about online classes is that there’s no travel and it’s just an hour out of your day.

I first had a session with Neuro Heroes in Novembver 2020 and I haven’t looked back since. One of our group members attended a Neuro Heroes class and shared the news on our WhatsApp group. I attended a couple of classes and was hooked. I’d had MS for 15 years when I started Neuro Heroes and I’m so much fitter now than I was two years ago. I’m lucky that our local MS Society group was successful in getting National Lottery funding two years in a row, so we can provide two classes a week for our members across three boroughs in West Central London.

Neuro Heroes has brought joy into exercise for me, something I’ve never made enough time for. I’m so grateful for their optimism and care for those of us, differently abled, with MS. I hope more people can benefit from group classes or one to one sessions to improve their overall health and fitness.
